Hornsby Tire Distributors Inc. will begin operations in Columbus, Ga., on May 12, 2014. The wholesale distribution center will be the Dothan, Ala.-based company's fourth.
"The greater Columbus, Ga., and surrounding markets have historically been very attractive for us," says President Steve Mattis. "We have a considerable dealer base in these markets, and we will be able to dramatically increase our service level to the same.”
Mattis says the company has spent a substantial amount of time and resources in preparation of the expansion.
"However, as we continue to grow our company, we must not forget the core principles that
have enabled our growth -- taking care of and valuing our customer base.”
Hornsby Tire has quadrupled its geographic footprint over the last four years.
“We will continue to grow our company, but it will be controlled growth,” says Mattis. “This is largely a relationship and service driven industry, and we will continue to offer our customer base a level of support that only an independent regional distributor can provide.”
