Ryan Villopoto makes it four back-to-back championships

May 1, 2014

In front of a record-setting crowd at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, Ryan Villopoto won his fourth consecutive Supercross Championship with his fifth 450SX class victory of the season.  Riding a Kawasaki and sponsored by Monster Energy, Villopoto, who serves as a product endorser for Falken Tire, earned his 40th win in his young career.  He is only the second rider in Supercross history to win four back-to-back championships.

“Falken has been with Ryan for all four years he’s won a championship,” stated Nick Fousekis, Falken’s Director of Motorsports Marketing, “and we’re thrilled to be associated with this extremely talented rider.”  Falken Tire, a leader in high performance tire technology for both cars and trucks, also has served as the Official Passenger Car and Light Truck Tire of the AMA Supercross series for the same four years.
Though there is one race to go in the 2014 season – the Supercross Finals in Las Vegas – Villopoto scored enough points to earn the crown early.

“It’s nice to say ‘four-time’ AMA Supercross Champion Ryan Villopoto,” added Jonathon Bradford, Falken’s Motorsports Marketing and Events Manager who also oversees the tire brand’s off-road programs.  “’RV’ is one of the most exciting and competitive players on the circuit and we are so glad to have him representing our company.”  RV uses Falken products on all his personal vehicles, for the street and off-roading.“It feels great to lock in my fourth-consecutive championship,” said RV.  “It’s been a hard-fought season with a few ups and downs, but it was obviously my most consistent, so I’m glad to be able to close it out on top.  Having Falken along for all these years has been extremely important to me as well.”
