Tire marketing veteran Bill Hirst dies

Tire industry veteran William "Bill" Hirst Jr. of Ambler, Pa., died unexpectedly on March 13, 2014. He was 57.

Born in Philadelphia, he is the son of Louise (nee Viola) Hirst, of Lafayette Hill, and the late William Hirst Sr. He attended the University of Delaware and Temple University.

Hirst was a successful tire marketing executive for more than 30 years. His past positions included executive vice president of TBC Wholesale in East Norriton, Pa., and vice president of sales and marketing for Treadways Corp. in North Wales, Pa.

An avid golfer, he was a past president and officer of Plymouth Country Club, where he was not only a member for more than 30 years, but also a past club champion.

In addition to his mother, Hirst is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Hirst (nee La Noce), and loving daughters, Alyssa and Sarah Hirst of Ambler. He is also survived by his brother, Stephen Hirst of Lafayette Hill; his mother-in-law, Genevieve LaNoce; brother-in-law, Paul La Noce, and his wife, Carrie; his nephew, Paul; and his niece, Caroline.

Relatives and friends are invited to call after 10 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014, at St. Alphonsus Church, 1565 Temple Drive, Maple Glen, Pa. An 11 a.m. funeral mass will be celebrated with Rev. Stephen Leva. The interment will be private.
