Bridgestone/Firestone announces price increases

June 1, 2001

Bridgestone/Firestone (BFS) Inc. is raising prices on its Bridgestone and Firestone brand passenger and light truck tires up to 4%.

The increase will vary by product line and is due to "the escalating costs of raw materials and transportation," says BFS officials.

The hikes begin on July 1.

Other tiremakers who have recently announced price increases include Continental Tire North America Inc., Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Michelin North America Inc. and Pirelli Tire North America Inc.
