Les Schwab Tires is working with Ford Motor Co. to come up with a direct process to help Ford customers replace their recalled Firestone Wilderness AT tires.
Right now customers can buy replacement tires at any of 330 Schwab outlets but must take demounted Firestone units to Ford dealerships if they want reimbursement.
"Our tire centers have replacement tires in stock," says Schwab President Phil Wick.
With stores in seven Western states including Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Idaho, Montana, California and Nevada and annual sales in excess of $1 billion, Les Schwab Tires is the fourth largest independent retail tire chain in North America, according to Modern Tire Dealer statistics.
