Mike Johnson returns to
Radar Tires for 2014

Feb. 14, 2014

In its 2013 SCORE International rookie season, Radar Tires attacked the long course races with a veteran’s stride.  Driver Mike Johnson led the charge that brought the tire manufacturer two podium finishes including a Class 10 win at the Baja 500.

Looking to build on that momentum, Radar Tires and Mike Johnson have teamed up again for the 2014 SCORE International season.  With two additional SCORE races on the schedule, both Radar Tires and Johnson will continue to showcase the strength of the Bronson Motorsports team and the performance of Radar Tires.

Johnson will wheel the No. 1031 Radar Tires Buggy with special non-DOT size 33X10.50R15 Radar Renegade R5 race tires in Class 10 starting with the San Felipe 250 later this month.  Johnson and the Bronson Motorsports team, led by crew chief John Hoffman, used the offseason to rebuild the buggy in preparation of the five-race season, an increase of two events from the previous year.

“Mike Johnson and the Bronson Motorsports team embrace the honorable and competitive spirit of Omni United and have been superb brand ambassadors of Radar Tires,” said GS Sareen, President and Founder of Omni United.  “It is with great pleasure and high expectations that Mike returns to represent Radar Tires in the SCORE events for the second consecutive year.  We’re looking forward to another season of ultra-competitive SCORE events this year.  Our sights are set on Class 10 podiums, wins and a championship title this year.”

Johnson and the Bronson Motorsports team open the 2014 SCORE season with the San Felipe 250 in a few weeks.  Then in April, Johnson and the team head to California for the Imperial Valley 250.  In June, Johnson will defend his Class 10 win at the Baja 500.  New for 2014 is the 125-mile SCORE Desert Challenge in southern California.  The season concludes with the Baja 1000 in November.
