Tire Discounters joins AMRA

Tire Discounters Inc. has joined the Automotive Maintenance and Repair Association (AMRA), a not–for–profit trade association organized to represent the interests, common policies and purposes of automotive service providers when dealing with consumers.

The main purpose of AMRA is to provide consumer communication programs like its Motorist Assurance Program (MAP).

“For years, Tire Discounters has followed MAP Standards for Automotive Repair,” says Nils Olsson, director of business development for Tire Discounters.

“Today, our new relationship with AMRA allows us to continue to ensure the best and most consistent service and repair process for all of our customers.”

AMRA says by using the MAP Uniform Inspection and Communication Standards and following the MAP Process, Tire Discounters will help strengthen the relationship between the motorist and the automotive maintenance and repair service industry.

Additionally, Olsson will join MAP’s Technical Committee. He also will serve on its Tires/Wheels/TPMS Sub-Committee, where he will help represent the industry regarding all proposed and pending state and federal regulations, as well as help improve industry service and operations standards.

Tire Discounters Inc. plans to open a dozen locations in the Nashville, Tenn., by early 2015. The company’s latest expansion will begin in spring 2014 with the opening of a store the city of Nashville.

Tire Discounters has 87 locations throughout the Midwest, employs more than 900 people and is No. 9 on the MTD 100. The company is based in Cincinnati.
