Cooper Adds Regional Haul Tire to Roadmaster Line

July 1, 2020

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has expanded its Roadmaster truck tire line with the addition of the Roadmaster RM258 WDTM, which is designed for regional fleets that need optimal winter traction.

Featuring an open shoulder design with four rows of lugs, the tire, which has achieved 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake certification, also includes shoulder notches and chevron grooves for “excellent bite in winter conditions,” according to Cooper officials.

Other features include four-belt steel construction; a deep, 26/32-inch tread; 3D lug siping; tie bars in the shoulders that help promote uniform wear; stone ejectors in tread grooves to prevent rock drilling; and more.

“This Roadmaster tire is all about traction,” says Gary Schroeder, executive director of Cooper’s Global Truck and Bus Tire Business. “It’s Roadmaster’s best performer in the snow and other adverse conditions for regional operators. The tire features an entirely new tread pattern and curb guards, coupled with enhanced compounding, to ensure excellent performance around town, including when hitting curbs, and while on the interstate. Where other tires might slip and slide in the snow, the Roadmaster RM258 bites to give excellent performance.”

The tire is currently available in sizes 11R22.5 and 11R24.5, Load Range H.
