Dick Aronson, president of Century Tire Co. in Portland, Maine, has been elected to the Maine Business Hall of Fame.

He will be inducted May 15.

Inductees are chosen based on business success and contributions to their local communities. Aronson works with the Maine Medical Center in Portland, the local Boys and Girls Club and a variety of other charitable organizations.

"I'm very honored," he says. "It's something I never thought would happen."

Century Tire is celebrating its 75th year in business. The four-store retail and commercial dealership employs more than 50 people and sells Firestone, Bridgestone, Nokian and Lee brand tires.
