Cooper to Reopen U.K. Plant

May 13, 2020

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. is reopening its plant in Melksham, England, and expects to restart production there by June 15.

“The facility, which primarily manufactures motorcycle and racing tires, has been temporarily closed since late March due to the coronavirus and its impacts,” say Cooper officials.

Cooper is currently ramping up production at its consumer tire plants in the U.S.

Brad Hughes, the tire manufacturer’s president and CEO, recently said that the plants are expected “to return to reasonably good utilization rates as we exit the second quarter.”
