Yokohama To Reopen U.S. Truck Tire Plant on April 27

April 24, 2020

Yokohama Tire Corp. will reopen its truck tire plant in West Point, Miss., on April 27.

The plant temporarily closed as a precautionary measure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At full capacity, it can produce 3,000 truck tires per day, according to MTD research.

To ensure the health and welfare of all personnel upon their return, Yokohama has implemented “several new safety procedures at the plant, based on the latest guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as from local authorities,” according to Yokohama officials.

“Several preventative measures are also in effect at all Yokohama facilities,” including the company’s Salem, Va., consumer tire plant, which remains closed.
