Newport, Ore.-based Alan Brown Tire Center Inc. is expanding this summer.

The 29-year-old family-owned dealership is remodeling an old auto repair shop in nearby Toledo, Ore., that will open June 1, according to Ken Brown, the company's general manager.

The four-bay outlet will sell passenger, light truck, commercial truck, industrial and off-the-road tires, Brown says.

Alan Brown Tire Center, with one location right now, reported year 2000 sales of $2.5 million and is part of Les Schwab Tires' 80-plus member dealer network. Schwab is the 12th largest tire distribution group in North America, according to Modern Tire Dealer statistics.
