Tire industry veteran Frank Dorso recently died at the age of 73.
A native of Akron, Ohio, Dorso started his career in the tire industry with Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. He later joined Falken Tire Corp. and served as the company's president.
Dorso later joined TBC Corp., where he served in a variety of capacities, including president of TBC’s Carroll Tire division. He also worked in sales for TBC’s Tire Kingdom property.
After retiring, Dorso shared his extensive experience and vast knowledge of the tire industry as a business consultant.
"His contact lists were a 'who's who' of the tire industry and he formed personal relationships with many of the people he dealt with," says Dave Crawford, longtime Dorso friend and president of the Hybrd Shop
Dorso – an avid golfer who scored his first hole-in-one at the age of 72 – is survived by his wife, Janice; sons Frank Jr., Thomas and Gina; and grandsons Collin, Spencer and Patrick.
