Jan. 27, 2020

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has completed its acquisition of its Mexico-based joint venture manufacturing facility.

This past November, MTD reported that Cooper planned to boost its ownership of Corporacion de Occidente S.A. de C.V. from 58% to 100%.

Full ownership “is part of our strategic plan to optimize Cooper’s global manufacturing footprint with cost-competitive production of quality tires in key geographies,” says Cooper President and CEO Brad Hughes.

“We are excited to continue working with the team in Mexico as we look forward to enhancing the facility’s global competitiveness.”
