Tommy Harris, owner of Harris Tire Co. in Lynchburg, Va., received the Distinguished Member Award at the Virginia Tire & Automotive Service Dealers Association (VTASDA) Convention in Charlottesville, Va., over the weekend.
Harris has been in business 33 years. He employs 35 people at his two retail tire dealerships.
"It makes me feel like I've given something back to the association," said Harris. "I've gotten more back than I've given."
He served as president of the VTASDA in 1996. He was elected to the Tire Association of North America board of directors last year.
