Pirelli & Cie SpA has earned a place on the "Climate A" list prepared by CDP, formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project.
CDP, which is an international, non-profit organization, gathers, distributes and promotes information about enviromental issues.
The "A" rating is the highest score that a company can receive, according to Pirelli officials.
"It takes into consideration the effectiveness of efforts made to reduce emissions and climate risks and to develop a low carbon emission economy, as well as the completeness and transparency of information provided and the adoption of best practices associated with the climate impact."
According to Pirelli officials, the recognition from CDP confirms the tire manufacturer's "constant commitment to questions of sustainability, an area in which the company already boasts a number of achievements."
