ACDelco Adds TPMS Sensors and Brake Calipers for All Makes and Models

Nov. 2, 2017

ACDelco has added tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) sensors and new brake calipers sold with no core charge to its aftermarket offerings for all makes and models.

Both new products are on display at the 2017 Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) Oct. 31 – Nov. 2 in the ACDelco booth (#4609).

David Mestdagh, general director of product development for ACDelco, told Modern Tire Dealer the new sensors represent 73% of the TPMS-equipped vehicles currently on the road, or more than 108 million cars, trucks and crossovers built since 2006.

Shops need to carry just five part numbers to cover the majority of TPMS equipped vehicles. The sensor is pre-programmed to follow existing OE re-learn procedures.

“The beauty of these sensors is they do not need to be programmed,” he said. “That step is built into the sensor. Simple is the bottom line. We made it as simple and accurate as possible," said Mestdagh.

In a first for ACDelco, the brand is now offering an all-new aftermarket brake caliper available in cast iron and aluminum with no core charge.

The cast iron parts are zinc-plated to help with corrosion protection. Critical components come pre-lubricated for smooth operation, including the pistons and bleeder screws.

The new calipers are new, not rebuilt or remanufactured. ACDelco is introducing the calipers just as remanufactured aluminum calipers for vehicles built in the 1990s and 2000s are becoming harder to find.

“Aluminum calipers can only be remanufactured so many times,” said Josh Shuck, brake product specialist. “This caliper gives shop owners a new, high-quality option that eliminates a few headaches along the way.”

The TPMs sensors and brake calipers are among more than 1,200 ACDelco part numbers introduced to the aftermarket in 2017.

ACDelco is the exclusive original equipment parts brand for Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac as well as a provider of premium aftermarket parts for most other makes and models.
