CIMS Partners with Plaza Tire Service to Electronically Register Tires

Oct. 26, 2017

CIMS Inc. has partnered with Plaza Tire Service Inc. to electronically register every tire sold by the Cape Girardeau, Mo.-based dealership’s 62 retail outlets.

The partnership enables Plaza Tire Service to electronically comply with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) tire registration rules.

“Our goal at CIMS is to help Plaza Tire Service continue its commitment to customer service and consumer safety as it relates to tire registration,” says CIMS President S.B. Kruder.

“The newly created interface enables Plaza Tire Service’s 62 retail outlets to automatically transfer the NHTSA required tire registration information from their point of sale system to CIMS’ Tire Registration Clearinghouse,” says Kruder.

Plaza Tire Service has been using CIMS for a few months, according to President Mark Rhodes. The CIMS electronic tire registration service “makes it easy to ensure that all of our locations are consistently in compliance with reporting regulations.”

Founded in 1963 by Vernon Rhodes, Plaza Tire Service is owned today by his sons, Mark Rhodes and Scott Rhodes, who are the recipients of Modern Tire Dealer’s 2017 Tire Dealer of the Year Award. With 62 stores in Missouri, southern Illinois, western Kentucky and northeastern Arkansas, Plaza Tire Service ranks No. 18 on the Modern Tire Dealer 100 list of the top independent tire retailers in the United States.
