B&J Rocket Adjusts Packaging to Lighten the Load

Oct. 5, 2017

B&J Rocket Sales AG has decreased the weight and size of its boxes of buffing blades in an effort to conform with healthy workplace standards across the marketplace.

The company says it wants to meet the different requirements for a healthy workplace across many countries, and has decided to decrease the number of sets of buffling blades in each box, from 50 sets to 30 sets. The change makes each carton 10 kg lighter, or about 22 pounds lighter.

The company says the price of the product will not be affected.

Andreas Müller, president of B&J Rocket, says, "Our price structure remains unchanged, as we charge for each blade rate and not per box."

Tthe 50-piece box weighed 25 kg (about 55 pounds), and the 30-piece sets weigh 15 kg, or 33 pounds.

Müller says, "This measure is the legal upper limit for workplace health regulations."

The company says the lower number of blade sets per box allows for a more flexible purchase of goods and optimizes storage due to a more compact packaging.

B&J Rocket will introduce the smaller pack sizes by spring of 2018 as stock of the 50-piece boxes is eliminated.
