The Toyo Proxes ST III from Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. is designed to offer both looks and performance for sport trucks and SUVs.
The Proxes ST III features an arrowhead tread design. With a wider tread and a new silica-based tread compound, Toyo says the Proxes ST III stops up to 6 feet shorter in wet conditions according to results of a third-party test. The Proxes ST III (in size 275/55R20) was measured against the Toyo Proxes ST II in the same size in a stopping test from 60 mph to zero.
Toyo says the new tire also delivers handling, all-season performance, consistent wear and a smooth, quiet ride now. The tire is backed by a 40,000-mile warranty.
Here's a look at the tire's features:
- Arrowhead tapers help deliver increased tread block stiffness resulting in better straight-line stability.
- Directional shoulder blocks stabilize the tread blocks for better braking performance and a quieter ride.
- Lightning grooves help enable better water evacuation on wet surfaces.
- Multi-wave sipes minimize irregular wear for greater longevity and help produce a smooth, quiet ride.

Both the design and compound technology found in the Proxes ST III help to make it the new standard in that segment.”
The tire is available in sizes to fit 17- to 24-inch wheels, and widths up to 335mm.
