The 51st annual SCORE International Baja 1000 will once again throw everything it has at the racers, with rough whoops from San Matias to SF, lots of silt behind Cataviña, and some fast sections all along the beach section. The race is being held in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico, the seaside port on the Pacific Ocean, 80 miles south of San Diego, Nov. 14th–18th, with 806.76 miles of every terrain imaginable.
The race will start and finish once again on Blvd. Costero with the Bahia de Todos Santos on the West side and the historic Riviera del Pacifico Cultural Center on the East side in the heart of Ensenada.
The Duran Motorsports/Radar Tires No. 1016 Jimco Class 10 team has had a season plagued with mechanical issues. They are prepared to overcome all the challenges of this year’s course, primed with the winning combination of Radar tires, Method race wheels, King shocks and Baja Designs.
"We have had a lot of bad luck this year with different issues, even when prepping 100%. Unfortunately things break," said Hiram Duran, owner/driver of the No. 1016 Duran Motorsports Class 10 Buggy. "We’re confident in our preparations and every single race mile will be pre-run multiple times."
Eric Duran will drive the first 280 miles, with Evan Duran jumping in to drive the next 200 miles. Hiram will get in around mile 480 to the finish. The team is extensively pre-running the course in preparations.
The desert is a perfect fit to utilize the durability of the Radar Renegade R5 tires. The team will utilize special non-DOT size 33X10.50R15 Radar Renegade R5 race tires in Class 10.
"We’ve had a chance to test our set up all season, and are confident in the performance of our Radar Tires, Method race wheels and King shocks in some of the harshest conditions in the world," said Duran. "We’re here to race to the podium."
