Ford Motor Co. has chosen the Vredestein Quatrac 5 as a standard fitment on the next generation Ford Fiesta in Europe.
It is the second original equipment contract awarded to Apollo Vredestein BV by Ford. The European tire manufacturer also supplies its Vredestein Sportrac 5 on the Ford EcoSport.
The Ford Fiesta will be fitted with a 17-inch version of the Quatrac 5, size 205/45R17 88V XL. Launched in 2014, the all-season tire is designed to offer "great grip, as well as fast acceleration even on wet surfaces," says Apollo Vredestein. The tire also features the 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol, complying with guidelines in countries where winter tires are mandatory.
"The Ford Fiesta has been one of the UK favorites for some 40 years," says Karl Naylor, Apollo Vredestein UK country manager. "Now in its eighth generation, it is still the best-selling car by a considerable margin, contributing to Ford’s position as the most popular brand in the UK.
