Hercules Donates Tires to Schools

Sept. 20, 2018

Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. has donated tires to a pair of schools where students are learning skills to enter the automotive industry.

The company gave tires to Millstream Career Center in Findlay, Ohio, and Owens Community College in Toledo, Ohio, to give students hands-on experience in the safe way to install tires.

Camilla Jesko, marketing manager of proprietary brands for Hercules, presented the Roadtour 855 SPE tires to Millstream to use on its 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT vehicle.

"We thank Hercules for these tires. They will be used for the van which various Millstream faculty and staff utilize when traveling on school business," said Tim Stroub, automotive program instructor. "Our students have completed a safety inspection on the vehicle and will learn proper tire maintenance and installation techniques as part of their curriculum."

Hercules also presented two sets of tires for Owens Community College vehicles to Jennifer Fehnrich, executive director of the Owens Community College Foundation. The Terra Trac AT II and the Terra Trac Cross-V will be used on a Chevy Silverado and Ford Escape respectively.

"In-kind donations of new products from companies like Hercules adds to the learning environment as students work toward program completion and begin entering the workforce," said Fehnrich. "Students will install these tires and complete inspections during their hands-on training."

"Contributing to the future of our industry through hands on learning is important to Hercules Tires," said Joshua Simpson, senior vice president of proprietary brands for Hercules. "The ability to support education and the advancement of the future automotive professionals complements our value of lead by example, we challenge companies of every size to give back to their communities however they see fit."

Hercules is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Tire Distributors Inc.
