Leeds West Groups Hires New CFO

Leeds West Groups (LWG) has hired Peter Derschang to serve as chief financial officer and a member of the advisory board of directors. Derschang, a certified public accountant, has more than 30 years of senior financial management experience. Prior to joining LWG, he served as chief financial officer at Brakes Plus Corp. from 2011 until 2018. He previously held the same position at The Cable Center in Denver, Colo., and he was vice president of finance at First Data Corp. where he managed various finance teams. He's also worked in financial roles at various national non-profits

He serves on the School of Accountancy Advisory Board at the University of Denver, and has taught various accounting courses at the Daniels College of Business since 2006 as an adjunct professor. He's a graduate of the University of Denver, earning both his bachelor’s degree in accounting and his Master of Business Administration degree.

In a separate announcedment, LWG also says its chairman of the board, Joshua Weinreich, has been appointed to the board of directors for E*Trade Financial.

LWG acquires, owns and manages national automotive repair franchises throughout the U.S. Its lineup of brands includes Midas, Big O Tires, SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service locations in 16 states with more than 850 employees. The company has 99 locations.

At the end of 2017 LWG made a big move and acquired Auto Systems Experts Inc., an Iowa company that operated 42 Midas locations in six Midwestern states.
