Pirelli Tire North America will be supplying its new P6 Four Seasons all-season tire to the Ford Motor Co. for use as OE on its Crown Victoria, Lincoln Town Car and Grand Marquis models, "with other projects in the pipeline for 2003," said the company.
Guy Mannino, Pirelli's CEO and president, said at the 2002 SEMA/ITE Show in Las Vegas, "We are honored to include the Ford, Lincoln and Mercury marques as part of the Pirelli OE family and we look forward to expanding our U.S. supply relationship with Ford over the next few years to complement our strong OE position with Ford in Europe and South America."
The vehicles will be equipped with the P6 Four
Seasons in sizes P225/60VR16 and P225/60VR17. The tires will be supplied from Pirelli's
factory in Brazil.
The P6 Four Seasons is already OE on some of the latest-generation imported sports sedans and coupes such as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and CLK, S-Class and the new E-Class; the
Audi A4, A6 and TT; the BMW 3 Series and 5 Series; Volvo V70 and S60 models; and Saab 9.3 and 9.5 models.
"With the introduction of the all-new, state-of-the-art P6 Four Seasons and the relaunch of
the new totally independent Pirelli company in North America, new opportunities have emerged
that will make Pirelli tires even more popular amongst American drivers," the company added.
