Harris Premaratne has been appointed chairman of specialty tire manufacturer GRI.
Premaratne has over 40 years of commercial bank experience. He is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of London. He served as senior deputy general manager of Commercial Bank of Ceylon and as the managing director of Sampath Bank PLC from 2009 to December 2011. He also served as the managing director of Cargills Bank Ltd. from 2012 to December 2014.
He held the position of chairman of Sri Lanka Banker’s Association and served as the deputy chairman of Softlogic Finance PLC and Pan Asia Banking Corp. PLC. Premaratne also is on the board of Softlogic Holdings PLC, Softlogic Capital and is a director of Asiri Hospitals Holdings PLC, Asiri Surgical Hospital and Asiri Central Hospital.
