Bridgestone Americas Inc. is targeting consumers who value fuel efficiency, off-road traction and high performance, respectively, with three new all-season tires.
The company’s latest entries in the SUV/CUV/minivan, all-terrain, and ultra-high performance categories are designed to wear longer and outperform their predecessors in wet and winter conditions. The new tires are the Ecopia H/L 422 Plus, Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 3 and Potenza RE980AS.
“When people hear about all season tires they really want something they can put on their vehicle and not worry too much about no matter what’s happening. That’s a design philosophy we are pushing really hard in these products launching this year. It’s become a strong core focus for us,” says Will Robbins, product manager, consumer replacement group.
The Ecopia H/L 422 Plus tire for crossovers, SUVs and minivans is the newest offering in the Bridgestone Ecopia line. The Ecopia H/L 422 Plus tire is available in 27 sizes, covering 64% of the crossovers, SUVs and minivans on the road today.
The Ecopia H/L 422 Plus tire is engineered with an optimized tread pattern to give drivers a secure, comfortable ride in all-season conditions. A unique tread block design offers increased traction and improved braking performance on wet roads, according to Bridgestone. The new tire comes with a 70,000 mile tread wear warranty.
The new Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 3 tire is designed for crossovers, SUVs and pickup trucks. It is engineered for smooth handling on the highway while also offering off-road capability.
Available in 37 sizes, the Dueler A/T Revo 3 tire is backed by a 60,000 mile limited tread wear warranty. The Dueler A/T Revo 3 features Bridgestone’s new “Traction Claw” technology for better off-road handling and snow performance.
An innovative new tread pattern with large tread blocks and staggered shoulder lugs gives the tire an aggressive look and longer-lasting performance. New design features include open shoulder slots to help reduce the risk of hydroplaning. The tire has a 60,000 mile limited tread wear warranty.
The Potenza RE980AS is an ultra high performance tire designed for drivers who want the handling and responsiveness of a UHP tire without compromising all-season capability. The Potenza RE980AS tire is backed by a 50,000-mile limited tread wear warranty.
Select sizes were launched late in 2017. As of March 1, the tire is available in 35 sizes ranging from 16 inches to 20 inches, with 18 additional sizes launching later this year. The RE980AS provides 85% coverage among 2010 and newer sports cars and sports sedans with V or greater speed rating.
The flagship Potenza all-season offering features a redesigned tread to provide more grip and improved wet and dry braking. The new compound and new asymmetric tread design are responsible for a 50% improvement in snow performance versus the prior tire.
