Magazine singles out two Michelin OTR tires

Dec. 16, 2011

Michelin Earthmover Tires, a division of Michelin North America Inc., has won two 2011 “Top 100” Awards from “Construction Equipment” magazine for its XDR2 and XHA2 tires. The awards were announced in early December, and the two products are being featured in the current issue of the magazine.

According the publication, the awards bring special attention to the most significant products each year and emphasize innovations, highlighting manufacturers who are investing in research and development. The winners were chosen by the editorial staff from several hundred product introductions, drawing on input from readers and the editorial staff’s experience with equipment technology and the equipment marketplace.

"'Construction Equipment’ is a well-respected, top publication in the construction industry,” says Bruce Besancon, director of marketing for Michelin Earthmover Tires. “Recognizing the XDR2 and XHA2 tires with these awards affirms the value that these tires provide to the end user.”

The XDR2 haul truck tire offers up to 20% more tread life than its predecessor, the Michelin XDR. Introduced at CONEXPO-CON/AGG in March, the XDR2 tire is available in size 27R49. Additional sizes will be available in 2012.

The XHA2 loader tire is designed to accomplish three goals -- reduce hourly operating costs, ensure that work continues smoothly and safely, and improve operator working conditions. It is available in sizes 20.5R25, 23.5R25, 26.5R25 and 29.5R25.
