Sears Auto Centers soon will carry Radar brand tires at its more than 800 outlets. The deal between Sears, Roebuck and Co. and Omni United Pte. Ltd. also will allow Sears to sell Radar tires online.

(Radar is the flagship tire brand of Singapore-based Omni United, which has a domestic subsidiary, Omni United USA Inc.)

Sears initially will offer the following lines:

1. the upgraded Radar RPX900, one of the best-selling Radar tires. The all-season, high performance touring tire features a lower rolling resistance compound. It will be available in 14 sizes.

2. the recently introduced Verenti R6 all-season ultra-high performance tire. The M&S-rated tire has an asymmetrical tread design and a UTQG rating of 400 AA A. It will be available in 12 popular sizes, with size expansion continuing throughout the rest of the year and into 2012.

“Having our products sold through Sears Auto Centers is a big step for Omni and for Radar," says G.S. Sareen, CEO and president of Omni United. "I am very confident that Radar tires will be a good addition to Sears tire portfolio, as they offer a compelling value-proposition to the customer.

"In addition to their geographical reach, Sears' exclusive wheel alignment technology and installations are truly impressive and unique in the sector. They give customers free critical information about the tire alignment in their cars in a matter of minutes, which contributes to their safety and improves fuel efficiency and the lifespan of the tires."

“The Radar line provides more options for customers seeking quality tires at value pricing," adds Joe Finney, president of the Sears Automotive Group..

Like many other retail tire dealers throughout the U.S., Sears is supporting the Radar brand’s “Mobilizing Hope” breast cancer research and awareness campaign with various initiatives at the store level, including in-store merchandising and Mobilizing Hope signage (for more information, click on "Radar Tires hosts cancer awareness events").
