The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has appointed Daniel Smytka to the position of President of the company’s Asia Pacific business. Smytka previously was in charge of Goodyear's Asia consumer business.
Under his leadership, the Asia consumer business relocated and expanded the company’s factory in China. Smytka succeeds Pierre Cohade, who leaves Goodyear for a new opportunity.
“Dan is a strong and talented business professional and the ideal leader to take our Asia business to the next level of performance,” said Richard Kramer, Goodyear’ president and CEO. “Not only does he know the tire industry, he has experience in almost every aspect of Goodyear’s operations and brings with him a track record of outstanding leadership performance.”
