SEMA Show, pre-show: Wake-up to training

Educational forums are at the forefront of the 2011 Global Tire Expo-Powered by TIA. Morning topics will focus on tire pressure monitoring systems and truck tires.

Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 10 a.m.

The World of Programmable and Multi-Format TPMS Replacement Sensors. This seminar will feature representatives from sensor manufacturers who will be discussing their products and how they best serve the needs of the tire dealer.

CSA and Truck Tire Service. Compliance, Safety and Accountability (CSA) is the Federal government's new initiative for improving large truck and bus safety. This seminar will outline the requirements for CSA and explain how they relate to the commercial truck tire service industry.

Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 10 a.m.

TPMS Tools of the Trade. Experts will discuss the latest products and how they help tire dealers service vehicles equipped with TPMS.

The Future of Emergency Road Service. This seminar will focus on the types of light mechanical repairs that truck tire technicians should be able to perform with some additional training, tools and equipment.

Thursday, Nov. 3 at 10 a,m.

TPMS Diagnostics. Matthew White, TIA's senior ATS/TPMS instructor, and Sean MacKinnon, TIA's director of automotive training development, will conduct this seminar on TPMS diagnostics.

In addition, TIA (Tire Industry Association) will host "Green @ Noon," "Tires at Two" and "Management at 4" seminars each day.

The Global Tire Expo is part of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, which will be held Nov. 1 through Nov. 4 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nev.
