Love’s Travel Stops held a grand opening event for the first fully rebuilt travel stop in its home state. Situated in Pauls Valley, Okla., the new travel stop at Interstate 35, exit 70, replaces the travel stop located at Interstate 35, exit 72.

The grand opening event began with a ceremonial parade procession from the former Love’s location to the new one. A caravan of vehicles including police escorts, a Love’s fuel hauler, a ladder fire truck and a miniature Love’s fuel hauler made its way through downtown Pauls Valley. Love’s employees, community members, and Pauls Valley High School cheerleaders walked alongside the vehicles to hand out candy and Love’s beef jerky.

“Pauls Valley is an excellent place to debut our first fully rebuilt travel stop in Oklahoma,” says Tom Love, chairman and CEO. “We have been a part of this community for more than 30 years. As we continue to open new, modern travel stops across the country, we remain committed to the communities in our home state.”

Tom Love welcomed the parade caravan as it arrived at the new travel stop. Other guests included Jenny Love Meyer, director of communications for Love’s, Deby Snodgrass, executive director of the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department, the mayor of Pauls Valley and other city officials. A ribbon cutting event was held in front of the store in partnership with the Pauls Valley Chamber of Commerce. During the ribbon cutting event, Tom Love presented the Pauls Valley School District with a $4,000 donation.

“The travel and hospitality industry is important to Oklahoma’s economy,” noted the executive director of the Oklahoma Tourism Department, Deby Snodgrass. “Love’s is a pioneer in building a network of travel stops across Oklahoma and this nation to support both the leisure and commercial markets.”

The new location officially opened last month.
