Nitto Tire U.S.A. Inc. is marketing a new fuel-efficient tire exclusively through American Tire Distributors Inc. The NT850+ is a luxury high performance tire with a UTQG (Uniform Tire Quality Grading) rating of 500 for tread wear.
The NT850+ has performance characteristics comparable to its predecessor, the NT850. However, it has 11% less rolling resistance. It also has 10 additional sizes.
“With the rise in gas prices, low rolling resistance technology is more important than ever, and Nitto is going the extra mile to ensure that the NT850+ is as resource-efficient as possible,” says Koji Watanabe, Nitto's national sales manager.
The NT850+ is designed for drivers of compact, compact utility, mid-size and full-size luxury vehicles in H-, V- and W-rated sizes. The 10 new sizes range from 17- to 20-inch rim diameters (a comprehensive list of available sizes can be found at www.NT850plus.com). The line is backed by: a 50,000-mile limited tread wear warranty and a 30-day trial period.
Old and new sizes suitable for usage on cross-over vehicles will maintain the “CUV” name on the sidewall, just like they were with the NT850.
The NT850 product lines were Nitto's first luxury touring tires. They were developed through a partnership between Nitto and ATD. The lines are only available to ATD customers.
