Free Pep Boys inspections for Brake Safety Week

Aug. 10, 2011

The Pep Boys is participating in the Motorist Assurance Program’s (MAP) Brake Safety Awareness Week, Aug. 20–28, 2011, by offering free brake system inspections for the entire month of August at Pep Boys locations across the nation.

“Taking care of your brakes is a critical part of keeping your vehicle safe,” said Jerry Martinelli, Director of Service at Pep Boys. “As we head into the fall season, now is an ideal time to seek a thorough brake inspection.”

Throughout August, Pep Boys will also have informational brake safety brochures and do-it-yourself guides available to download at www.pepboys.com for consumers without a Pep Boys close by. Pep Boys recommends drivers regularly inspect their brake systems, including all brake linings, hardware and hydraulics, or have them inspected by trained technicians where available.

During Brake Safety Awareness Week, or any other day of the year, drivers can stop by any Pep Boys location nationwide to inquire about vehicle safety and recommended maintenance. Pep Boys has experts on hand to answer questions, offer system inspections and free tire pressure checks year-round to assure consumers are driving safely.
