TRIB: Two trade shows, two successes

Aug. 8, 2011

The Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB) has had an active trade show schedule. First, the group was in Panama City, Panama, for the second annual Latin American & Caribbean Tyre Expo July 20-23. This annual event brought in tire people from all over Latin America, the U.S., Canada, and the rest of the world.

TRIB says that it was able to sign-up several new members, and renew and build relationships with existing members from the region. The group also met with other regional associations interested in promoting the benefits of retreading, and discussed with attendees the benefits of using retreaded tires and opportunities for expansion in their markets.

The group next traveled north to Orlando, Fla., to exhibit at the eleventh National Motor Vehicle and Aviation Training and Exposition (FedFleet 2011). The event took place July 26-28, and was hosted by the General Services Administration. More than 1,300 fleet management professionals within the Federal Government were in attendance.

“I had several track me down at our booth after seeing ‘retread’ in the conference guide to learn more about the retread process and how they could use retreaded tires in their fleets,” says David Stevens, TRIB’s managing director. “We had a video of a retread plant tour that generated a lot of discussion and we created a lot of converts from the ‘I see all that rubber on the road’ group to the ‘I need to look into this because I could be saving money’ group.”

Stevens say the group is gearing up for the next big exhibit at the Great American Trucking Show (GATS) in Dallas on Aug. 25-27. All TRIB members should have received an email invitation to GATS which provides free admission to the show. Another email invite will be coming next week if you missed the first one. TRIB will be in Booth 15049 at GATS.
