Rotary Lift lights up its Y-Lift

July 7, 2011

Rotary Lift has introduced an LED lighting system for its Y-Lift alignment and general service lifts that frees technicians’ hands and properly illuminates the work area to improve productivity.

The Y-Lift is a drive-on lift that uses Y-shaped legs to provide up to 50% faster rise times than scissor lifts, the company notes. It also gives technicians 20% more clear workspace for improved efficiency.

The new lighting kit includes two 140-inch strips of white LED lights to be attached to the inside of the Y-Lift’s runways. LED lights provide crisp, white light without shadows and are more energy-efficient than other types of lighting. LED lights are also more durable and have longer life than other shop lighting options. If one LED does burn out, the others will remain lit.

“Rotary Lift has offered a variety of lighting kits for our certified lifts for years,” says Ron Lainhart, Rotary Lift parts and service manager. “Being able to easily light the entire vehicle undercarriage with the flip of a switch makes a technician’s job easier and helps improve productivity.”

The LED lighting kit (part number Z100016BK) can be ordered with a new Y-Lift or easily retrofitted to a lift that is already in service.

The Y-Lift was designed for vehicle alignments (model YA12) and general service work (model Y12). It accommodates a large wheelbase range and enables technicians to perform four-wheel alignments on cars with wheelbases as short as 71½ inches, such as the smart fortwo.

It has a compact footprint and true vertical movement to accommodate smaller service bays. The YA12 is compatible with all leading alignment instrumentation, including new 3D and camera wheel alignment systems. Capacity is 12,000 pounds.

The Y-Lift has been third-party tested by ETL and ALI certified to meet ANSI safety and performance standards. It is made in the U.S.A.
