Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc. is teaming up with Sullivan Tire Co. Inc. and former United States Men's National Soccer team player Alexi Lalas to promote America SCORES New England.

The tie to Lalas is appropriate for Kumho, because it also  showcases its partnership with the U.S. men’s soccer team. Kumho is not only the official tire of the men's and women's soccer teams, but also a sponsor of Major League Soccer.

SullivanTire (www.sullivantire.com), based in Norwell, Mass., runs 53 Sullivan Tire & Auto Service retail locations throughout New England. Lalas will meet and greet soccer fans on Friday, June 3, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Brockton, Mass., store, located at 1320 Belmont St.

On June 4, Kumho will launch its philanthropic social media campaign supporting America SCORES New England, a non-profit organization that empowers youth through the unique combination of athletics, creative writing and service-learning, helping them develop life skills, literacy and health through soccer. The campaign will take place before and after the June 4 "friendly" match between the U.S. Men's National Soccer team and Spain's team at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass

The company will have a booth, located in Brigham & Women’s Healthcare Parking Lot at the northwest corner of the stadium, before the game on Saturday.

Kumho Tire is committed to providing America SCORES New England with 750 new soccer balls for children in its program -- upon reaching 15,000 likes on Facebook at www.facebook.com/kumhotire.

[PAGEBREAK]“We are reaching out in a myriad of ways to our consumers, our dealers, and our communities throughout the country to expand our presence as ‘the’ high-performance tire company, as well as to give back and to inspire kids from all walks of life to drive toward their dreams,” says Rick Brennan, Kumho's vice president of marketing.

“We have established a national network of relationships with amazing organizations, from our dealers to national sports teams, that have enabled us to successfully build our consumer base by showcasing our brand as one of the leading tire manufacturers in the world.”

Kumho also is kicking off a new program giving Sullivan Tire customers a $40 rebate on the purchase of four Kumho Ecsta UHP tires, or a $20 rebate on the purchase of two Kumho Ecsta UHP tires. Qualifying Ecsta lines include ASX, SPT, AST and LX Platinum.

“Kumho Tire is motivated to work with its local dealers throughout the country toward the common goal of growing sales,” noted Brennan. “It’s a win-win scenario, one that puts both Kumho and our dealers in the zone.”
