A round affair for Mike Rockenfeller and Hankook

May 16, 2011

This success feels well. In the 44th race after joining the DTM in 2007, Mike Rockenfeller finally scored his maiden DTM victory at Zandvoort in The Netherlands. The 27-year old had started the race from third place, but moved up into second place with a great start. The key to success was the perfect race strategy of the Audi team. Mike Rockenfeller was the first driver to come into the pits for a tyre change on lap eleven and was in the lead once the other drivers had also completed their stops.

From then on, he controlled the field and crossed the finish line as the winner after 41 laps. Equally trouble-free as for the buoyant winner, the race went from the perspective of tyre manufacturer Hankook. The Ventus F200 slick tyre showed a balanced and consistent performance for all the teams and mastered the demanding track without any problems.
