Michelin will raise prices in Canada

May 9, 2011

Michelin North America (Canada) Inc. will raise consumer tire prices effective June 1, 2011.

The increases, up to 10%, are necessary "due to escalating raw material costs," says the company. All orders scheduled on or after June1, 2011, will be affected.

(The product lines included in the April 1, 2011, "Winter Tires Base Price Book" are not included.)

Michelin says the new base price lists will be mailed before June 1. In addition, an electronic version of the lists will be posted on the company's business-to-business Web site.

Other price increases

Hankook Tire America Corp. also will raise prices effective June 1. In Hankook's case, however, they will be applied to the company's line of commercial tires, including the Hankook and Aurora brands.

The increases will be up to 9%. The amount of the increase will vary by product line and size.
