April 20, 2011

Suppliers are going from Singapore to Chennai. Tyrexpo India 2011 in Chennai, India, is benefitting from the recent success of ECI International’s flagship tire trade exhibition in Singapore, Tyrexpo Asia 2011.

Following that show, suppliers are confirming their involvement in July’s first staging of Tyrexpo India. One such company is Dubai-based distributor Zafco, a first-time exhibitor in Singapore.

”Zafco will have a major presence at Tyrexpo India with three separate stands covering our corporate business, represented by Zafco; Zeetex, our internationally recognized brand for all tire categories including UHP and our Double Coin range of truck and bus tires which is well-known globally for its strength in load and mileage,” says Rakesh Kandhari, head of Dubai-based distributor Zafco, a first-time exhibitor at Tyrexpo Asia. “We want to devote the appropriate level of attention to all visitors and understand the requirements of potential customers in India.”

Founded in 1993, Zafco is a leading importer and exporter of automotive tires, batteries and lubricants to over 800 customers in 85 countries. Zafco has one of the world's biggest warehousing networks with a combined average inventory of more than 1 million tires. Zafco's commitment to the finest quality products is reflected in its portfolio of global brands which includes Pirelli, Roadstone, Nexen, Otani, Nitto, Siam Tyre, Double Coin, Hankook, MRF and Zeetex.

For Carlisle Tire and Wheel, the Chennai-based subsidiary of U.S. company Carlisle Companies Inc., participation in the show will provide opportunities for building brand and product awareness.

"Carlisle is well known in India for products such as brakes and friction but we now want to build greater brand awareness of our specialist tire ranges which cover applications for

materials handling equipment, OTR, ATV, trailers, skid steer, agricultural and industrial applications,” says T. Natarajan, country director for Carlisle Tire and Wheel. “With the Indian boom in construction, power and infrastructure technologies, demand for our global products that service these sectors will grow accordingly.”

Parent company Carlisle Companies Incorporated is the US-based diversified global manufacturer which has interests in many industrial, technical and commercial markets around the world.

Rowena Suthers, sales director for show organizer ECI International, adds: “The success of the Singapore show has certainly created a great deal of interest in Tyrexpo India. Suppliers are recognizing the enormous potential of the emerging domestic markets in India and are keen to establish a presence to capitalize on that. That applies to many growth sectors, such as passenger car, truck and bus, OTR and agricultural but also specialist products for markets such as materials handling and infrastructure projects.”

The show will take place at the Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai July 5-7. For more information visit www.eci-international.com.
