Federal Corp. is emphasizing new motorsports products in 2011. FMS (for Federal Motorsports) products "are designed to provide superb handling performance, especially for road races, track days and super lap battles," says the company.
New or upcoming applications include the following:
* FZ-101 in size 245/640-17. The medium compound tire is exclusively designed for time trial and endurance competition use such as the V8 Challenge and Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race.
* FZ-201 in 14 sizes ranging from 185/60R13 80V through 285/30ZR18 97Y XL. They are available in both medium and soft compounds.The FZ-201 is the official tire of the Nippon Challenge in the United Kingdom; Rally Tarmac Championship; Malaysian Super Series Championship; and Sepang S1K Endurance Race (in the Touring Car Category).
* FZ-202 in four sizes: 195/55R15, 195/50R16, 225/45R17 and 235/45ZR17 94W. They also are available in both medium and soft compounds.
* Federally G-series. The G-10 (with an asymmetric tread pattern) is available in size 205/65R15 94Q in both medium and soft compounds. The G-11 (with a symmetric tread design) is available in size 185/65R14 86Q in soft compounds. The tires are designed to run on dry and damp gravel surfaces.
Federal says its motorsports program will continue to evolve as the year goes on.
