Hennelly Tire: 31 stores and counting

Hennelly Tire & Auto Inc. plans to open between five and 8 stores in 2011. The first of those new stores -- the company's 31st -- is already up and running.

The company, which does business as The Tire Choice & Total Car Care in Florida, opened a store in Riverview, Fla., a neighboring city of Tampa, on Jan. 29. The 5,900-square-foot facility features eight bays.

With 31 stores, Hennelly Tire is tied for 34th on the Modern Tire Dealer 100 list. Number 32 is expected to open March 5 in Largo, Fla., according to Dan Hennelly, chairman and CEO.

Hennelly Tire is based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. It is run by Dan and his wife, Diane, vice chairperson and CFO. A report on the opening of their 30th store, which Diane designed, can be found in the January issue of MTD.
