There were nearly 18 million medium and heavy truck tire units shipped in the United States in 2010, according to the 2011 Modern Tire Dealer Facts Issue.
Replacement shipments accounted for 85% of the total. Here is the breakdown, in millions of units:

More new truck tires were shipped than retreaded truck tires, a reversal of what happened in 2009. There were 14.3 million retreaded truck tires produced last year, versus 13 million the year before.
