Toyo Tire U.S.A. names Furman COO

Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. (TTC) has hired Marty Furman as chief operating officer (COO), where he will manage all functional departments including technical services, sales, marketing and pricing. He will report directly to the company’s President and CEO, Yasushi Takagi.

“I am pleased to welcome Marty Furman as the first chief operating officer of Toyo Tire U.S.A.,” says Takagi. “He brings a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge, which I believe will greatly benefit our company as well as our dealers.”

Furman has served in management roles at companies including Procter & Gamble, Avery Dennison and Trojan Battery Co. In his recent role as COO of Pentel of America, he led the company to internal performance improvements and progressive market share gains. His senior executive responsibilities have included the areas of finance, business development, marketing, sales, product development, plant management, manufacturing and engineering.

A graduate of the Columbia University Senior Executive Program, Furman received his M.B.A in Finance from Loyola University. He also holds a B.S. in Chemistry and B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland.
