Pirelli Canada names Barbieri president

Jan. 27, 2011

Pirelli Tire North America (PTNA) has announced changes in its United States and Canadian operations. As part of the reorganization, a new president of the company's Canadian subsidiary has been named.

Matteo Barbieri, who joined PTNA on Jan. 1, 2011, has taken over as president of Pirelli Tire Inc. in Canada (contrary to what had been reported in industry publications other than Modern Tire Dealer).

Marco Zambianchi, formerly president and general manager of Pirelli Tire Inc., will relocate to the U.S. as both vice president/general manager of the motorcycle business unit, and vice president, U.S. key account manager.

Riccardo Cichi will play an integral role in both the U.S. and Canadian markets. Formerly vice president of U.S. consumer replacement tire sales, Cichi not only has been promoted to senior vice president of Pirelli Tire LLC in the U.S. (he will retain his responsibilities for replacement sales), but also will assume additional responsibilities as the senior vice president of Pirelli Tire Inc.

In other moves, John Godfrey, the former director of logistics, was named director of logistics and purchasing, with responsibility for purchasing for North America. Nicola Colombo has been appointed vice president, replacement sales in western Canada.
