AKH Co. Inc., which does business as Discount Tire Centers in California, hired Michael Schaeper as president on Jan. 3, 2011.
Schaeper is responsible for directing and managing all of the day‐to‐day operations of the business. He reports directly to Chairman Andy Andonian, Vice Chairman Hratch Andonian and the board of directors.
The move allows Andy and Hratch Andonian to focus their attention on strategic planning, expansion, key initiatives, and "critical relationships with key customers, suppliers and, most importantly, our valued associates," says the company.
Schaeper has experience running small to midsize manufacturing, distribution and retail companies in several industries. He has a strong financial and operations background, and extensive international experience in Asia and Europe.
In 2007, he not only provided consulting services to AKH/Discount Tire Centers, but also served as interim CFO.
