Dec. 11, 2008

Cape Girardeau, Mo.-based Plaza Tire Service has opened its 50th location, a retail store in Chesterfield, Mo.

The 6,500-square-foot store has 10 service bays and has been in the works for about two years, says Plaza Tire President Mark Rhodes.

Plaza Tire is celebrating its 45th year in business. Earlier this year, the company relocated its corporate headquarters to a new, larger facility.

The chain has outlets in Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky and Illinois. It's the 22nd largest independent tire store chain in the United States, according to Modern Tire Dealer research.
