Audi OKs another OE fitment for Yokohama

Jan. 4, 2011

The Yokohama Advan Sport is original equipment on the new Audi A7 Sportback. The premium luxury, four-door coupe will be fitted with size 265/35R20 99Y XL tires on the front and rear.

The Audi A7 Sportback was released in Europe in autumn of 2010. It will be available worldwide in 2011.

It is the fourth Audi model to have Yokohama tires fitted as original equipment, joining the S6 and S8 in Audi AG's top-class S series, and the Audi Q7, a large, high-performance SUV. The Advan Sport also is OE on the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and Cayenne; the Bentley Motors Continental series; and Mercedes-Benz AMG models.

Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. developed the Advan OE tire jointly with Audi. It bears the mark "AO" (Audi Original) on its sidewall, indicating approval of the tire by Audi.

Advan Sport tires are designed to provide "stable running at extreme speeds  of over 300 km/h (Y-rated), together with good dry and wet grip, braking, and a comfortable, quiet ride," says Yokohama. The tires also are environmentally friendly, "with improved wear and reduced rolling resistance."

Advan is Yokohama's flagship brand. For more information, visit www.yokohamatire.com.
