Yokohama Tire Corp. will raise prices on its commercial tire lines from 3% to 5% on Jan. 1, 2004.
Medium radial truck, OTR and light truck commercial tires will be affected.
Yokohama cites escalating business expenses as the reason for the increase.
Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. raised prices on its consumer tires from 2% to 3% and commercial tires from 4% to 6% today.
Continental Tire North America Inc. also increased medium/heavy truck and OTR tire prices from 3% to 5% today.
Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire LLC will hike consumer, medium truck, bus, farm and OTR tire prices up to 5% on Jan. 1.
Michelin North America Inc. will raise prices on select passenger and light truck tires up to 5% on Feb. 1, 2004.
