ITE: 'We're 100% behind Firestone,' says Lampe

Bridgestone Americas Holding Inc. CEO, Chairman and President John Lampe re-affirmed the company's commitment to the Firestone brand at the Bridgestone/Firestone dealer meeting at the International Tire Expo (ITE) today.

"If we ever took our success for granted, believe me, we don't any longer," Lampe told dealers. "The reason the Firestone brand has enjoyed a long life is independent dealers like you."

Firestone brand sales jumped more than 2% during the first half of 2003 vs. the same period last year.

Lampe also announced that Bridgestone/Firestone is updating its classic "Where the rubber meets the road" slogan for an ad campaign during 2004.
